We are seeking a motivational leader for our Fallon NV team. The Refinery Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of the used oil re-refining process including associated tank farms, utilities, and wastewater treatment operations. You will work alongside the shipping/receiving, maintenance and laboratory departments. Ensure health and safety, quality, compliance and production goals are met. Manage operating expenditures such as catalyst, chemicals, and supplies.

- Monitors, manages and reports overall production of refinery against the budgeted production plan.
- Budget cost for re-refinery process chemicals, catalyst, and supplies.
- Manages the selection of hydrotreating catalysts.
- Participates in shutdown planning activities, process troubleshooting, process optimization, monitoring and analysis of process data.
- Responsible for hiring, training, coaching, evaluation and development of department employees.
- Ensures process operations within safe operating limits, compliance with all regulatory permits, EH&S requirements, and ISO quality standards.
- Oversee and participate in ongoing preparation, revision and approval of SOPs for the refinery.
- Manage small to mid-size capital and expense projects.
- Participate in the Process Safety Program to include PHA reviews, PSM Audits and action item closure.
- Conduct management team investigation and implement corrective actions for incidents.
- Serve as on call alternative emergency coordinator and be responsible for after hours refinery support.
- Other Duties as Assigned.
What does it take to work for Safety-Kleen, a Clean Harbors company?
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred
- 7 Years’ experience in the petroleum or chemical processing industry preferred
- Proven ability to motivate and lead a team
- Must be able to communicate with all levels of the organization written and verbally
- Strong technical aptitude with respect to refining operations
- Mechanically inclined is a plus!
- Ability to plan, organize, make decisions and handle multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to budget cost for re-refinery process chemicals, catalyst, and supplies
- Computer savvy
- MS Office Suite – Word, Excel and Outlook
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions, lift up to 50lbs, stoop, climb and work at heights
