What are the responsibilities and job description for the Traveling Team Industrial Maint. Laborer (TWIC) position at Clean Harbors?
100% travel, requiring being away from home 3-4 weeks or longer, based on business demands. TWIC card is required.
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times.
- Performs work in enclosed (confined) spaces.
- Performs work using high-pressure water blasting equipment to clean heavy industrial equipment (pipes, boilers, tanks, heat exchangers, bundles, etc.);
- Loads hoses, chemicals and other equipment required for the assigned job onto the truck.
- Cleans work area and equipment after work is completed.
- Practices safety procedures in accordance with training and guidelines when working.
- Assists in the inspection of equipment, hoses, connections, pumps and the general work area.
- Performs labor-intensive activities in all weather conditions throughout the day.
- Works in atmospheres with low clearances, confined spaces and at heights.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical demands:
- Must be able to wear protective clothing or equipment. This includes, but is not limited to Nomex coveralls, a black belt, slicker suits, rubber boots, a fresh air breathing mask and escape pack and a hard hat.
- Must be able to work under extreme climate conditions (excessive high heat index of 95 degrees Fahrenheit, 98% humidity and subzero weather conditions) relative to geographic location.

- Previous industrial, warehousing, or construction-based experience preferred.
- Ability to perform manual labor (i.e. heavy lifting, confined space entry, working at heights, etc.);
- Ability to wear a respirator and work in all types of weather.
- Ability to travel up to 80% of the year, up to 3-4 weeks away from home as business demands require.
- Valid driver’s license.
- TWIC Card required.
