RELATIONSHIP MANAGER, HYPERSCALE

Summary:

The Relationship Manager, Hyperscale plays a critical role in fostering and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with hyperscale data center customers (e.g., Amazon Web Services, Google, Meta, Microsoft, and Oracle) and emerging large tenants such as CoreWeave. This role requires a deep understanding of the hyperscale market, its evolving needs, and the ability of CleanArc to meet current and future requirements. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with exceptional communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.


This role will be focused on collaboration and team success, where compensation is based on team-wide performance. THE COMPANY

At CleanArc, we’ve created a first-of-its-kind solution that takes hyperscale data center development to a new level. Our team of data center veterans and power structuring experts has assembled the critical components — development at campus-scale, renewable energy structuring for carbon offset goals, and “data center production” via innovative offsite manufacturing partnerships— into a turn-key solution for hyperscalers seeking to expand quickly, sustainably, and cost-efficiently.


Formed in 2022 by James Trout, the founder of CoreSite and Vantage Data Centers, CleanArc has assembled an executive team who have designed, managed, and built over 2 gigawatts of state-of-the-art data center facilities. It’s through that hard-earned expertise that we’ve conceptualized a new approach to data center development and clean energy structuring, unbounded by “the way it’s always been done.”

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships: Build and nurture relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within and across hyperscale organizations.
  • Market intelligence: Gather and analyze market data, industry trends, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and anticipate customer needs.
  • Business development: Identify and source new business opportunities with hyperscale customers.
  • Negotiation and contract management: Assist with negotiations on complex contracts and agreements, ensuring mutually beneficial terms.
  • Customer advocacy: Represent customer interests internally within the company.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including sales, engineering, legal, and finance. Build and maintain strong relationships with industry partners and consultants.
  • Market representation: Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in business development, account management or a related role within the data center industry or experience in site selection / data center capacity procurement for a hyperscaler.
  • Proven track record of success in building and maintaining relationships with or for hyperscale customers.

Knowledge:

  • Deep understanding of the hyperscale cloud computing market, including its trends, technologies, and key players.
  • In-depth knowledge of data center development, operations, and technologies.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field.


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS


  • Up to 30% domestic travel is estimated.
  • Remote: If employee is not based in a preferred location, then regular travel to a main office location is expected for team and company meetings and events.
