Day Porter/Matron

Overview

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Day Porter to join our facilities maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our residential and commercial properties. This is an entry-level position that offers a great opportunity to develop a career in facilities maintenance. Assist maintenance staff.

Responsibilities

- Perform general cleaning duties, including dusting, sweeping, and mopping floors.
- Maintain the appearance of the property by cleaning windows, doors, and other surfaces.
- Assist with porter duties, such as emptying trash cans and restocking supplies.
- Provide support for special projects, including industrial cleaning and painting.
- Operate buffing equipment to maintain the appearance of floors.
- Conduct routine checks of facilities equipment to ensure proper function and report any issues.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of common areas, including lobbies, hallways, and break rooms.

Qualifications

- Previous experience in custodial, porter, or facilities maintenance roles is preferred.
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
- Basic knowledge of industrial cleaning and painting procedures.
- Familiarity with floor care equipment, including buffers and mops.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of company information and follow company policies.
