Engineering Controls Technician – Night & Weekend Support

At CleanFiber, we're on a mission to revolutionize the building materials industry through sustainability and innovation. We produce high-performance cellulose insulation from recycled corrugated cardboard using a unique and patented process. As an industry disruptor in the fast-growing insulation market, we’re scaling rapidly with our flagship production facility in Buffalo, NY, leading the way.

We are seeking two Engineering Controls Technicians to provide night and weekend support for our cellulose insulation production facility. This is an exciting opportunity to launch your career in industrial controls while supporting cutting-edge manufacturing technology in a growth-stage company.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities :

Monitor and maintain automated control systems for CleanFiber's production facility.
Assist in troubleshooting PLC systems , sensors, and instrumentation.
Perform routine maintenance and calibration of control equipment .
Document system changes and maintain accurate technical records .
Support process optimization initiatives through data collection and analysis .
Collaborate with senior engineers on control system modifications and improvements.
Help maintain safety systems and emergency shutdown protocols.
Participate in preventive maintenance programs.
Work regularly scheduled night / weekend shifts , with flexibility for overtime as needed.

The Right Candidate Will Bring Experience In :

Object-oriented programming languages ( C , Visual Basic, Java ).

Computer software / hardware installation and basic network topology (Ethernet) .

Understanding of electrical systems and safety protocols.

Reading and interpreting technical drawings and documentation .

Applying troubleshooting methodologies to solve complex system issues.

Interpersonal Skills :

Strong communication skills to collaborate with production teams and engineering staff.

Ability to explain technical issues to non-technical team members .

A collaborative mindset for cross-functional projects.

Commitment to safety and quality standards .

Educational Requirements :

Associate's degree in Electronics Technology, Industrial Controls, or a related field.

Recent graduates or those completing technical certification programs are encouraged to apply.

Experience :

0–2 years of experience in industrial controls or related fields.

Hands-on internship or technical project experience is valuable.

Exposure to safety systems and protocols in manufacturing environments is a plus.
