Overview:
As a Medical Assistant II at CleanSlate Centers, you are integral to our patient care process, providing critical support to medical providers and facilitating both clinical and administrative functions. This position demands proficiency in a fast-paced medical environment, exceptional skills in patient interactions, and a commitment to making a significant impact on the lives of those we serve.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing patients for healthcare visits, ensuring accurate intake and documentation of medical history, vital signs, and assessments.
- Perform blood draws and collect urine drug screenings, as well as other laboratory tests, including CLIA-waived testing.
- Engage in patient outreach, including re-engagement, appointment reminders, and follow-ups regarding treatment and prescriptions.
- Conduct medication counts, assist with prescription management, and handle medication destruction and logging.
- Maintain and manage laboratory supplies, personal protective equipment (PPE), and medication storage logs.
- Document patient interactions and scan medical records into the EMR system.
- Work closely with front desk and laboratory teams, expanding skills and responsibilities as appropriate.
- Maintain adherence to safety, environmental, and infection control policies while upholding patient confidentiality.
- Engage in daily team huddles, meetings, and collaborative efforts to improve patient care and workflow efficiency.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Successful completion of Medical Assistant, EMT or LPN program required.
- 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a fast-paced medical office required.
- 1 year of phlebotomy experience required.
- Knowledge of billing, prior authorizations, and payment reconciliations.
- 1 year experience with Customer Services, Behavioral Health, and/or Healthcare facilities preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to support patients during critical moments in their lives, providing compassionate care and understanding.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Teams, email, and electronic health records (EMR).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment
