This vital role supports Lumen Field's commitment to sustainability and cleanliness by ensuring that waste is sorted efficiently and effectively, adhering to our goal of diverting an average of 90 percent of waste from landfills. With over two million visitors annually, Lumen Field is a leader in sustainable operations, and our team plays a crucial part in maintaining this standard. Role Overview: As a Stadium Dock Trash Sorter, you will be at the forefront of our waste management efforts, using the innovative MrFi conveyor belt system to sort all stadium waste, including recyclables, trash, and food waste. This position is essential for maintaining the high recovery rates of materials for reuse, recycling, and composting, contributing to the stadium's environmental goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate the MrFi conveyor belt system to sort waste materials efficiently.
• Identify and remove contaminants such as chip bags from the waste stream to ensure maximum compostability.
• Work quickly and accurately to manage waste during back-to-back events, focusing on negative sorting to remove non-compostable items.
• Collect liquid waste below the belt, contributing to a cleaner sorting process.
• Adhere to Lumen Field's sustainability practices, including the use of Green Seal-certified janitorial supplies and locally sourced food.

Requirements:

• Commitment to sustainability and environmental practices.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to work post-event hours, including nights and weekends.
• No previous experience required; training will be provided on the MrFi system.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and handle waste materials.
• Sort waste materials correctly on the conveyor belt.
• Assist with heavy items and maintain a tidy work area.
• Follow safety protocols and wear PPE.
• Be ready to work in various weather conditions.
• Team player with a positive attitude.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
