Our Superintendent will oversee the day-to-day operations and construction activities on our job sites. The Superintendent will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with safety and quality standards. This role requires hands-on leadership, strong coordination skills, and the ability to maintain a well-organized and efficient job site. The ideal candidate has a solid background in construction site management, subcontractor coordination, and quality control. Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing job site challenges are essential for success.

Location: We anticipate this role will work primarily from our jobsites in Santa Barbara and Ventura counties. This role will be in office at times, and can be based in our Santa Barbara office, or from a remote home office in Santa Barbara County or Ventura County


Key Responsibilities:

Job Site Supervision & Coordination:

  • Oversee daily job site operations to ensure work is completed efficiently and according to project specifications.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and site personnel to maintain workflow and meet project timelines.
  • Conduct daily site inspections to monitor quality, safety compliance, and adherence to building codes.
  • Ensure job sites are clean, organized, and safe, enforcing company policies and OSHA safety standards.
  • Address on-site challenges promptly, working with the project team to resolve issues and minimize delays.

Scheduling & Resource Management:

  • Develop and maintain short-term schedules in alignment with overall project timelines.
  • Coordinate material deliveries and ensure proper resource allocation to keep projects moving forward.
  • Track job progress and communicate updates to the project team.

Quality Control & Compliance:

  • Enforce strict quality control standards, ensuring all work meets company and client expectations.
  • Conduct safety meetings and enforce proper safety procedures across the site.
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes, permit requirements, and regulatory inspections.

Communication & Reporting:

  • Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for subcontractors, inspectors, and project managers.
  • Maintain daily logs of job site activity, workforce attendance, and material usage.
  • Provide progress updates, flagging any issues that may impact the schedule or budget.


Qualifications:

Experience:

  • 5 years of experience in construction site supervision.
  • Proven track record of successfully overseeing ground-up or remodel luxury residential construction projects.
  • Strong background in coordinating subcontractors and managing on-site construction activities.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Proficient in reading construction plans and specifications.
  • Ability to anticipate and proactively resolve job site issues.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend)

Education & Certifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required); degree in Construction Management or a related field is a plus.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification (preferred).
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work on-site daily and walk/inspect the job site in varying weather conditions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and navigate construction environments (ladders, scaffolding, etc.). While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand, sit, bend, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, drive, talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
