About the role :

As a Structural Engineer with Clear Architecture, you'll do more than just calculations-you'll help shape dream homes that reflect our clients' visions. Whether you're designing innovative structural systems, collaborating with architects to integrate creative solutions, or ensuring safety and precision at every step, this role is your chance to combine technical expertise with artistry.

You'll have the flexibility to work remotely in Santa Barbara, Ventura, or Los Angeles Counties or join us in our vibrant Santa Barbara office, located just blocks from the beach. Key Responsibilities :

  • Design and analyze structural systems for residential projects, ensuring safety, stability, and adherence to building codes for both wood and steel construction.
  • Collaborate with architects during the design phase to integrate structural solutions seamlessly.
  • Prepare structural drawings, calculations, and specifications.
  • Coordinate with contractors, fabricators, and municipal agencies.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections during construction to ensure compliance with design intent.
  • Provide technical support during the construction phase, including responding to RFIs and submittals.
  • Attend client meetings and present technical information in a clear and accessible manner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering from an accredited institution..
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) license required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering, preferably in high-end residential projects.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., RISA, ETABS, or similar), AutoCAD, and Revit. Ability to coordinate directly in Revit with the design team to adjust structural strategies as needed.
  • Strong understanding of building codes and construction standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently while managing multiple priorities.
  • Computer Skills

  • Digital file management and standards.
  • Proficiency in Revit (BIM) and AutoCAD,
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Project, and Bluebeam / Expert PDF Professional.
