TITLE: Seasonal Groundskeeper (Current need for mowing season only of April - October)
REPORTS TO: District Grounds Manager, or Buildings and Grounds Director
JOB SUMMARY: Under direction from the District Grounds Manager, maintains the Clear Creek Amana School grounds and facilities.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Terms and conditions as established by the Board of Education.
QUALIFICATIONS: Physical: Is physically able to work in a standing or sitting position for prolonged periods. Is able to work in hot and cold climates during all seasons of the year. Willingness to have a flexible schedule as required by seasonal needs. Has manual dexterity to handle pieces of grounds equipment such as trimmers, edging machines, snow blowers and misc. hand tools for extended periods of time. Has ability to operate zero turn mowers, skid steer loader and mid-sized tractor, and wheel loader along with other small utility grounds equipment as needed. Is able to lift materials weighing up to (seventy) 70 pounds on a routine basis and will be required to lift heavier items as needed. Mechanical aptitude for performing routine maintenance checks on equipment is a plus. Experience with pouring concrete is a plus.

The District Groundskeeper may be asked to assist with record keeping, including but not limited to: equipment maintenance logs, athletic field maintenance logs, inventory logs, and district mowing logs.
Mowing and trimming, snow removal and ice management, playground maintenance and safety checks, planting bed maintenance, athletic field maintenance and painting, parking lot maintenance and painting.

- Clean parking lots of debris, including sand, rocks, trash and other items that have accumulated
- Prepare baseball and softball complex for upcoming season.
- Prep and paint soccer practice, discuss and shot put lines.
- Assist with aeration and overseeding of athletic fields and playgrounds.
- Mow all grass areas on an as needed basis determined by the district.
- Assist with playground and out building inspections and or repair.
- Prep and mulch planting beds district wide.
- Mow and trim all sites on a weekly basis or as determined by the district.
- Perform mulching/Inspections and repairs of playgrounds as needed.
- Assist with painting of athletic fields as needed for practice and competition.
- Monitor water needs of athletic fields along with overall health of turf.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on grounds equipment.
- Assist Building Engineers with moving of equipment and supplies around the district.
- Stripe parking lots and paved playground surfaces as needed.
- Keep planting beds and gravel areas free of weeds and debris.
- Perform concrete repairs on parking lots and sidewalks.
- Assist with any other grounds/facilities projects designated by the district.
- Mow and trim all sites on a weekly basis or as determined by the district.
- Playground safety checks
- Prep and groom athletic sports turf for the upcoming fall activities.
- Paint grass football practice fields.
- Prep district grounds for winter months.
- Assist with routine maintenance on equipment.
- Prep snow removal equipment for use
- Assist with substituting for Building Engineers or Custodians on an as needed basis.
- Remove snow from driveways, sidewalks and entryways as needed.
- Apply ice melt as needed to provide a safe walking surface and monitor drives for icy conditions, treat if necessary.
- Regular and prompt attendance.
- Individuals will be expected to be flexible with work schedules and be on call for winter duties or emergency situations.
- May be assigned other duties in addition to those listed in the job description.
