TITLE: Student Information System (SIS) Manager
LOCATION: Administration Office
REPORTS TO: Sr. Executive Director of Finance (SBO) /Board Secretary with collaboration with the IT Department
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in a business or social sciences field preferred.
- Minimum two years of experience in experience.
- Minimum two years of successful experience in a student information or administrative assistant role.
- Student data management experience is required; substantial experience managing PowerSchool SIS preferred.
- Must demonstrate a code of ethics and maintain the highest standards of confidentiality in dealing with sensitive data and proprietary information.
- Ability to understand complex support documentation and procedures, and to implement necessary procedures successfully.
- Must demonstrate advanced problem-solving skills.
- Must demonstrate exemplary customer service skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organization skills

Preferred:
- Minimum two years of successful experience in a database operator or database administrator.

JOB GOALS: Serve as the primary operator, trainer, support specialist and coordinator of the district's Student Information System (SIS) and integrated student data systems. Serve as the district's primary point-of-contact with District SIS and with the Grant Wood AEA team. Works to ensure security of student data. Serves as the student data-focused liaison between the district and agencies to which the district reports data.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures.
- Administers and operates the district's SIS, including recommendation and implementation of organization-wide settings.
- Responsible for oversight and administration of PreRegistration, Registration, and Enrollment in the SIS system.
- Establishes, maintains and regularly audits security permissions and system activity within the SIS.
- Provides timely and effective day-to-day SIS support to all district staff.
- Consults with district staff regarding the capabilities and limitations of the SIS.
- Performs end of year requirements and rollover of the SIS.
- Coordinates and assists staff with district state reporting requirements. (i.e Certified Enrollment, BEDS)
- Designs, organizes and delivers regular staff development for secretarial staff, counselors, teachers and administrators relating to student data management procedures and practices and the role-specific operation of the SIS.
- Develops digital guides, courses and other training materials to support staff development relating to student data management procedures and practices and the role-specific operation of the SIS.
- Collaborates with regard to development of schedules, maintenance of academic terms and provision of end user-facing student data products (i.e report cards, transcripts)
- Develops and implements regular communications to district staff relating to student data-related topics including, but not limited to, deadlines, changes, system maintenance, report availability and integrations.
- Keeps abreast of current trends in SIS management, including opportunities to automate or streamline student data management, records provision, reporting and training delivery.
- Manage district student data, including testing data and interim assessments (CFA's). Create reports and charts for presentation
- Responsible for open enrollment billing in and out of the district
- Other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Twelve-month year. Exempt salary and calendar year to be established by the Board of Education
- Requires commitment of professional working hours that may require the employee to extend beyond a typical work day.
