About the Job:
This role requires a Chain of Custody and Evidence Management Professional to ensure the integrity of all property and evidence and maintain chain of custody. The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving, storing, releasing, and maintaining security of evidence and property for safekeeping.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, store, release, and maintain security of evidence and property for safekeeping
- Safeguard and preserve the integrity of all evidence and chain of custody by state laws, county ordinances, and sheriff's office policies and procedures
- May assist in collecting and preserving evidence at crime scenes in support of investigating detectives
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- IAPE certification within the first year of employment
- CAPET training within the first year of employment
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform physical activities such as standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling
