RD/QA Food Technologist

Job Description Job Description Position Summary : The Food Technologist performs Quality Assurance and Research & Development activities. Supporting Quality Assurance, the position monitors product quality, conducts analytical tests, audits manufacturing processes, and supports regulatory compliance. Supporting Research and Development the position produces bench top samples and supports nutritional and chemical analysis.Essential Functions : Principal Duties and Responsibilities (

• Essential Functions)Perform product quality testing, including recording and analyzing results.Audit manufacturing process, verify process paperwork and identify process improvements.Support regulatory and audit requirements, including GMP and FDA processes.Support quality and product initiatives, including product and process improvements, manufacturing commercialization, technical specifications and resolving quality problems.Perform administrative duties, including entering and analyzing data, developing instructions, maintaining specifications, managing product controls, and updating process documents.Supports SQF initiatives.Perform other duties as assigned, while following company, safety, quality policies and procedures.Minimum Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree, BS food science or related degree preferred2-4 years’ experience working in laboratory setting or food industryDemonstrate strong analytical, problem solving, organizational and communicationSelf-directed, detail oriented, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.Physical Requirements / Work Conditions :
• Work environment is office based, but can be partial remote
• Phone and computer use
• Normally seated with freedom of movement on a regular basis, operating office machines and handling light materials and supplies
• Periodic physical activity requires walking, bending, standing, lifting, and stooping.
