What are the responsibilities and job description for the Group Facilitator position at Clear Life Recovery?
Unified Wellness Center is currently hiring a group facilitator that is responsible for leading group sessions designed specifically for first responders and veterans within a substance abuse treatment setting. Ideal candidates would be responsible for creating a safe space for clients to discuss and process the unique challenges and stressors associated with their profession, while providing emotional support, coping mechanisms, and peer-to-peer connection opportunities to improve mental health and wellbeing.
Key responsibilities include:
- Facilitating structured group discussions on topics like critical incident stress, trauma management, burnout, and coping strategies.
- Setting a safe and supportive environment where open communication and active listening are encouraged.
- Managing group dynamics, addressing conflicts constructively, and ensuring everyone feels heard and respected.
Psychological Support:
- Providing psychoeducational information about mental health conditions/substance abuse issues relevant to first responders.
- Helping members identify and manage emotional responses related to traumatic experiences.
- Guiding individuals in developing healthy coping mechanisms and stress management techniques.
Peer Support:
- Fostering peer-to-peer connection and support within the group.
- Encouraging members to share their experiences and provide support to one another.
- Recognizing and referring individuals who may require additional mental health support.
Program Management:
- Developing and implementing structured group curriculum based on evidence-based practices.
- Maintaining accurate records of group attendance and participant progress.
Preferred Experience:
-Past or current career as a first responder/veteran.
-Knowledge of substance abuse treatment modalities and topics.
-Familiarity with group documentation and use of Alleva EMR.
-Comfortability with facilitating groups consisting of up to 10-20 clients; both in-person and virtual.

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 32 per week
