- Data Modeling: Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support banking operations, including customer data, transaction data, risk management, and financial reporting.
- Requirements Analysis: Collaborate with business analysts, data analysts, and other stakeholders to gather and understand data requirements. Translate these requirements into comprehensive data models and schemas.
- Data Integration: Work with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) teams to ensure that data models are integrated effectively with data sources, data warehouses, and other systems.
- Database Design: Develop and optimize database schemas, tables, and relationships to support data integrity, performance, and scalability.
- Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of data models, including data dictionaries, entity-relationship diagrams, and data flow diagrams.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct data model validation and verification to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with banking regulations and standards.
- Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize data model performance to ensure efficient query execution and data retrieval.
- Collaboration: Work closely with IT teams, data engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment between data models and business needs.
- Compliance: Ensure that data models adhere to banking industry regulations, data governance policies, and best practices.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field. Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Data Management Professional) is a plus.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in data modeling, preferably within the banking or financial services industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in data modeling tools (e.g., ER/Studio, IBM InfoSphere Data Architect, Microsoft Visio), database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL), and SQL. Experience with data warehousing solutions and BI tools is a plus.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of banking data structures, regulatory requirements, and data management best practices.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
