What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infant Room Teacher position at Clear Springs Academy?
Clear Springs Academy is a year-round, licensed childcare facility. At CSA, early childhood teachers are responsible for carrying out a daily program designed to meet the children's physical and developmental needs.
We are seeking an infant teacher who is assertive, creative, emotionally mature and has a sense of humor. Early education teachers must also be sensitive to children's needs and relate well to both children and adults.
Position Overview:
The Infant Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for infants aged 6 weeks to 18 months. This role involves creating a developmentally appropriate program that encourages growth in physical, cognitive, emotional, and social skills. The Infant Teacher will work closely with parents, colleagues, and the center's administration to ensure each child's needs are met.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Knowledge of child development principles and practices for infants.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with infants.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to sit on the floor and interact with infants at their level. Additionally, bend, stoop and get up and down from floor holding child.
- Stamina to keep up with the physical demands of caring for active infants.
Work Environment:
- The position is based in a childcare center environment with exposure to various childhood illnesses.
- Requires flexibility to work within the center's operating hours, which may include early mornings or late afternoons.
- Requires flexibility to assist in other classrooms when needed.
