The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly experienced and driven Estimator with a hunter mentality to pursue, estimate, and WIN profitable projects in commercial construction, infrastructure, utilities, and energy.

The ideal candidate will be a master of estimating across multiple verticals, leveraging deep industry expertise, subcontractor relationships, and strategic bidding tactics to secure high-value tenders and maximize profitability .

Sectors You Will Estimate & Bid In :

Commercial Construction & Developments – Mid-rise and high-rise buildings, industrial, retail, office, mixed-use developments.
Infrastructure & Civil Construction – Roads, bridges, transportation, public works, smart city projects.
Utilities & Energy – Electrical grid modernization, substations, electrification, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), EV infrastructure, and renewables.
Public & Private Sector Bids – RFPs, tenders, and design-build opportunities across North America.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating & Bid Management

Identify and aggressively pursue high-value project opportunities through bid platforms, industry connections, and strategic networking.

Lead full-cycle estimating, from quantity take-offs to bid submission across diverse scopes.

Prepare and submit highly competitive estimates, budgets, and proposals for tenders and RFPs.

Source, analyze, and negotiate pricing from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to maximize profitability.

Develop and maintain unit cost databases to ensure up-to-date pricing on labor, materials, and equipment.

Strategic Bid Development

Create winning bid strategies by integrating cost-saving solutions, value engineering, and risk management insights.

Leverage market intelligence to ensure bids remain competitive while meeting ClearBlue’s profit targets.

Collaborate with internal teams (project managers, finance, and executives) to align estimates with business objectives.

Market & Industry Intelligence

Stay ahead of industry trends, material / labor cost fluctuations, and supply chain impacts.

Maintain and expand relationships with key subcontractors, suppliers, and trade partners to ensure preferential pricing.

Monitor bid-win ratios and project profitability to continuously refine estimating processes.

What We’re Looking For

Must-Have Experience & Skills

10 years of experience in construction estimating, with a proven track record of winning profitable projects.

Expertise in commercial construction, infrastructure, utilities, and energy project estimating.

Strong command of estimating software such as ProEst, CostX, RS Means, Trimble, Bluebeam, or similar tools.

Extensive network of subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors across North America.

Deep understanding of RFPs, tenders, unit pricing, and lump sum bids in public and private sectors.

Ability to prepare both conceptual and detailed estimates, including hard bids, cost-plus, design-build, and lump sum pricing.

Proven ability to win competitive bids and negotiate contracts that maximize company profitability.

Financial acumen to assess project risks, margins, and cost breakdowns.

Bonus Points For :

Experience in BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems), solar, EV charging infrastructure, and renewables.

Professional designations such as CEC (Certified Estimating Consultant) or PQS (Professional Quantity Surveyor).

Previous experience working with high-growth infrastructure or construction firms.
