Our client, a telecommunications company located in Englewood, CO, is currently in need of a CMTS DOCSIS Network Engineer for a contract-to-hire position. Working in a hybrid model with four days/week onsite, this role will join an existing team of 30 responsible for Access and CPE architecture for their red network including HFC (Hybrid Fiber Coax), and FTTH (Fiber to the Home) as part of the sustaining engineering team. This is the team that develops the environment to be deployed to the field, troubleshoots escalated field issues reported, and works with vendors for root/cause and fixes.
Required Skills:
RPHY experience: Harmonic vCMTS and RPDs, Vecima RPDs
Must have CPE experience
Preferred Skills:
Required Skills:
- 5 years of experience of network engineering
- Must have experience with DOCSIS and EPON standards and P0, P1 troubleshooting
- DOCSIS 3.0 hands-on troubleshooting experience, exposure to 3.1 preferred
- EPON platform experience: ADTRAN 95XX and SX-6210, Vecima (Nokia) 7360 and Distributed Access Architecture SF-4x, SC-2D3
Preferred Skills:
- CMTS platforms experience: Casa C100G, Arris E600, Cisco cBR8
- Switch platform experience: Cisco NCS/ASR and Juniper PTCQFX/ACX
- Routing protocol experience: OSPF, ISIS, BGP, v4/v6 multicast
