Sr Network Security Engineer

Our client, a large healthcare network located in Richmond, VA, is looking to hire a Senior Firewall Network Engineer for a full-time hybrid role. The engineer will work standard hours of 8 am to 5 pm EST and will be expected to be onsite 3 days per week. (may be remote opportunity after initial 3 months)

The Senior Firewall Network Engineer is responsible for implementing and overseeing firewall policies based on input from the Information Security Team. This role acts as a liaison between Information Security and Networking teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

Required Skills:

• Minimum of 12 years networking experience
  
• 6 or more years' experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls is required, preferably in the healthcare industry. PCNSE certification preferred.
  
• CCNA certification
  
• Proficiency in recording and interpreting TCP/IP packet captures is required
  
• On hand technical knowledge or networking systems, protocols, firewalls, load balancers, and VPN technologies
  
• Experienced with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools
  
• Experience working in an enterprise switched and routed environment
  
• Candidate must be an expert in data center core networking to the ability that they can teach/mentor a junior network engineer
  
• Must be within 1hr driving distance or willing to relocate closer
  
• Must be willing to do on call once every 12 weeks

Desired Skills:

• Cisco ACI
  
• SDWAN experience
  
• Prisma experience
  
• Skills in automation languages are a plus: python, java, perl, etc
