Coordinator of Community Day Services - Getz
Location: Palatine, IL
Schedule: Full Time, Monday-Friday 8am-4pm
Pay: $58,680/yr
Summary of Position
Clearbrook empowers adults and children with intellectual/developmental disabilities to live their fullest lives possible. As the Coordinator of Community Day Services you are directly responsible for the operations and administration of all facilities and their staff in Community Day Services (CDS) program. The Coordinator of Community Day Services will be responsible for multiple sites.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Administration:
-Have a thorough knowledge and understanding of the Illinois Department of Public Health (if applicable) and Department of Human Services regulations and, in conjunction with the Director of CDS, be responsible for ensuring that facilities are operated in compliance with these regulations, including conducting required safety drills.
-Participate in and respond to all surveys by all departments listed above to ensure implementation of any necessary plan of correction.
-Participate in all meetings as scheduled and assigned.
-Keep apprised of current practices and developments in Community Day Services provisions and apply these principles to the CDS Program(s) when applicable.
-Actively participate in decision making on an administrative level in conjunction with the Director of CDS and/or Vice President of CDS.
-In conjunction with the Director of CDS, assess and identify staff needs and areas of training on an ongoing basis.
Program:
-Create, maintain and update goals that enhance the supports and services provided by the CDS program, in accordance with the philosophies of Clearbrook.
-By active participation in Outcome Measures, the Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the CDS Program’s activities/programming is in accordance with the CDS mission.
-Oversee program staff; work with families, community partners, and appropriate agency departments to ensure efficient delivery of active treatment services to clients participating in the CDS Program.
-It is the responsibility of the Coordinator of Community Day Services to maintain confidentiality with all clients and their families and maintain a professional image/role as a representative of the agency.
-Conduct annual program evaluation in conjunction with the Director and/or Vice President of CDS.
-In conjunction with the Director of Admissions, coordinate the client intake/discharge process.
-Ensure that safety standards and, when applicable, safety devices are appropriately utilized at all times during programming.
-Adhere to all policies and procedures established for Clearbrook, the Community Day Services Program, and those of all governing bodies.
Business:
-In conjunction with the Director and/or Vice President of CDS, maintain/prepare records/budget reports as necessary for the Business Office or external agencies.
-Possess a fundamental understanding of program expenditures.
Personnel:
-In conjunction with the Director of CDS, ensure compliance with Clearbrook’s Human Resources policy and procedures as outlined in the H. R. manual as they relate to the programs and their staff.
-Supervise program staff to ensure that the delivery of services to the clients is in accordance with his/her individual program plan.
-Successfully implement PHI coaching approach as well as utilize PHI techniques when communicating with staff.
-Train and orient program staff to ensure that the delivery of services, as determined by Clearbrook and each individual’s service plan, is in accordance with all state and federal regulations.
-Hire, supervise, and evaluate staff of programs, either directly or indirectly.
-Discipline and termination of program staff, either directly or indirectly.
-Complete performance reviews of assigned staff.
-Preside at staff meetings as necessary for the effective operation of the facilities and the proper and timely dissemination of information.
-Complete mandatory training annually as mandated by state and federal regulations and the Director of CDS.
-Assume all other duties as assigned by the Director and/or Vice President of CDS. Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field
Preferred: None specified
Job Experience:
Minimum: At least 3 years of related experience
At least 1 years of supervisory experience
Preferred: At least 5 years of related experience
At least 2 years of supervisory experience
Special Knowledge & Skills: Microsoft Office proficient, knowledge of governing regulations
