Job Overview
ClearFreight is a licensed freight forwarder and customs brokerage firm with 11 offices in the United States and 13 offices overseas. We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented International Trade Compliance Coordinator to join our team. You will support policies, procedures and direction for our Import Customs regulatory compliance program and will assist in the monitoring and enforciment of compliance policy guidelines for reasonable care and paperless recordkeeping. The candidate will report to the Senior Manager of Trade Compliance and assist the Trade Compliance Specialist.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal staff and new clients during the onboarding process.
- Monitor Custom Powers of Attorney, ensuring forms and documents are compliant.
- Work with HR to maintain an accurate employee roster in the ACE portal .
- Manage Organizational codes in our CargoWise brokerage system.
- Run Customs Entry reports to assess and maintain compliance and for quarterly audits.
- Compile report data for analysis using Excel and present for Manager's review.
- Conduct tariff classification reviews for internal staff and external clients.
- Manage CEU's for our licensed customs brokers per US CPB regulations
Requirements
- MInimum 3-5 years work experience in Customs Brokerage &/or Trade Compliance
- Strong knowledge of HTSUS General Rules of Interpretation and POA requirements.
- Experience conducting compliance reviews and analysis.
- Strong Customer Service orientation and a passion for compliance.
- Able to maintain consistent attention to detail.
- Strong written, verbal, presentation and organizational skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments while maintaining a high level of integrity and professionalism.
Other Beneficial Assets
- Customs Broker License and/or Customs Certified Specialist
- CargoWise system experience
- Knowledge and understanding of TSA, FMC and Hazmat requirements
