Position Title: Hardware Inventory I
Position Summary:
The Hardware Inventory I position is responsible for maintaining Clearlight Glass & Mirror’s shower hardware inventory within our FeneVision software, ensuring accurate records and efficient management of stock levels. This position requires close attention to detail to manage hardware components essential to customer projects. The Hardware Inventory I works closely with office, sales, and fabrication teams, contributing to the overall efficiency of operations and maintaining a seamless inventory process. This role supports Clearlight’s goals by providing accurate and up-to-date stock records, monitoring hardware availability, and handling any required tasks to support smooth operations. This position reports to the Office Manager and works closely with the Accounting Manager.
Position Schedule:
This is a full-time role, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, excluding company holidays. Critical hours are between 8:00 and 9:00 AM and 3:00 and 5:00 PM, when inventory demands are highest. The role is budgeted for 80 hours per pay period.
Essential Duties:
Inventory Management / Stock Tracking:
- Serve as the primary handler of all shower hardware inventory, managing records within the FeneVision system and ensuring real-time accuracy of stock levels;
- Track inventory levels through regular cycle counts and audits, promptly identifying discrepancies and taking corrective action;
- Review hardware usage rates to anticipate needs via the software, purchase items needed in a timely manner and in a manner to reduce shipping costs and minimize stockouts;
- Organize and maintain hardware storage, ensuring efficient access and safe handling while reducing risk of theft and loss;
- Regularly inspect inventory quality and integrity, addressing any issues with damaged or low-quality items.
Order Processing / Communication:
- Accurately process incoming and outgoing inventory, ensuring that all items are properly tracked in the FeneVision system;
- Prepare inventory and customer paperwork, ensuring all records and customer packages are complete, accurate, and up to date, with a target of completing responsibilities in a timely fashion;
- Communicate with sales and fabrication teams about stock availability, item locations, and lead times, and update them on any changes;
- Provide rapid and clear updates to relevant team members on any stock shortages, issues, or adjustments needed to fulfill customer orders.
Attention to Detail:
- Maintain rigorous attention to detail in all data entry, documentation, ordering and inventory processes, ensuring accurate and complete records at all times;
- Perform quality checks on all items to ensure they meet company standards, addressing any discrepancies.
General Office:
- Follow company procedures for paperwork, filing, and inventory management to maintain organized and easily accessible records.
- Keep workspace, storage areas, and office equipment clean, tidy, and functional, coordinating with the Office Manager for supply needs.
Safety and Compliance:
- Follow all Clearlight safety procedures for inventory handling and storage.
- Monitor for unsafe conditions, reporting any issues or concerns to management for prompt resolution.

- Standing/Walking/Sitting/Balancing: Frequent transitions between standing, walking, and sitting positions on various surfaces, including carpet and concrete;
- Lifting/Carrying/Bending/Twisting/Reaching/Stooping/Crouching: Regular bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds;
- Talking/Hearing: Effective verbal communication and normal hearing required;
- Repetitive Motions: Frequent use of computer keyboard and lifting inventory delivery boxes;
- Visual Acuity: Depth perception, color vision, and near visual acuity required;
- Temperament: Ability to work independently, follow specific instructions, and handle repetitive tasks with a high level of attention to detail. Good customer interaction skills;
- Environment Factors: Exposure to changes in temperature/humidity within the shop area.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in inventory management or similar role; familiarity with FeneVision or similar inventory software is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong computer proficiency, including knowledge of inventory management software and basic MS Office skills. Ability to learn new software quickly;
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy in data entry, and strong organizational skills;
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities, including with customers.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework in inventory management or logistics is beneficial.
Working Conditions:
This role operates in both office and warehouse environments, requiring flexibility and independence in task management and tolerance for changes in temperature and humidity.
