Purchaser for Clearly Tahoe Adventure Shops

Job Summary
The Purchaser at Clearly Tahoe will be responsible for overseeing inventory management across all retail locations, including the physical shops and the online retail website. This role ensures that inventory levels are accurate, stock is restocked within budget, and product availability is balanced between all locations. The Purchaser will create and manage purchase orders (POs) in the system, ensuring timely deliveries and accurate inventory records.
In addition to managing physical stock, the Purchaser will ensure the online retail website is consistently updated with accurate product descriptions, prices, and images that reflect in-store inventory. This role will work closely with the Sales Manager and Marketing Team to promote new products, seasonal items, and ensure an excellent customer experience.
The Purchaser will regularly review sales data to determine when to restock, adjust pricing, or discontinue items. Purchaser will set pricing for new products and oversee the display of merchandise, ensuring it is properly tagged and organized both in-store and online. The Purchaser will also be responsible for adding new items to the Square system and ensuring that the product categorization and placement on the website is accurate.
Additionally, this role will inspect inventory upon arrival and help facilitate any returns/replacements to lost, damaged or poor quality items.
The Purchaser will report directly to the Sales Manager and will be responsible for promptly addressing any discrepancies or inaccuracies in the inventory. This includes taking immediate action to resolve issues with stock counts, product displays, or system errors to maintain accurate inventory levels. Additionally, this role will be responsible for reporting any damaged goods or instances of theft according to company procedures, ensuring that all issues are properly documented and addressed in a timely manner.
Purchaser will keep the Sales Team informed about new products, vendor updates, and changes in pricing. They will also update the company newsletter with information about new inventory, seasonal products, and promotions to ensure the team and customers are well-informed. Purchaser may work with the marketing team from time to time to provide information on seasonal items, featured products and shop-related events.
Routine inventory checks will be conducted to maintain accurate stock levels, and the coordinator will be expected to fulfill shop roles as needed during shifts, ensuring the smooth operation of the retail environment.
The Purchaser will help with merchandising and display of retail products in the shop and online as well as help process retail sales in the shop, oversee and train other sales team members.
Lastly, The Purchaser will be expected to assist with retail sale events, featured-artist events and other Clearly Tahoe events at one of our shop locations or featuring Clearly Tahoe shop locations at an off-site event.
Duties
- Arrive to work on time as scheduled.
- Oversee inventory management across all retail locations (physical shops and online website), ensuring accurate stock levels and availability.

- Help source new/seasonal items.
- Purchase within budget guidelines.
- Keep meticulous records of purchases and expenses.
- Evaluate pricing for retail items.
- Propose price increases and discounts as necessary.
- Ensure that merchandise is properly tagged, organized, and displayed both in-store and online.
- Manage damaged items and process accordingly.
- Report and log missing items or theft.
- Handle quality control of new merchandise.
- Train new sales employees how to handle inventory as necessary.
- Help coordinate featured vendor events and retail marketing events.
- Update the online retail website – ensure product categorization and inventory levels are accurate
- Work closely with the Sales Manager and Marketing Team to promote new products, seasonal items, and create excellent customer experience.

Qualifications

- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate product tagging, stock counts, and inventory and inventory report.
- Ability to adapt to changing inventory needs, customer demand, and seasonal trends.
- Ability to identify, report, and manage inventory discrepancies, damaged goods, and instances of theft.
- Comfortable using software tools for inventory tracking, such as Square, Excel, and other inventory management systems
- Must be fluent in English. Bilingual preferred.
- 2 Years Customer Service Experience (preferred)
- 2 Years Retail Experience (preferred)
- 1 Year of experience in using Square or other point-of-sale systems to manage inventory
Seasonality
This position is expected be 10-months and run from March 15th to January 15th. Entry-level employee may be asked to start as soon as March 1st for company training.
Clearly Tahoe is a seasonal recreational company that is only open at limited capacity during the winter months. Our 4-month high-season runs from June through September. (Please Note: it is highly desired that employees do not have extensive time-off requests during this time) the bulk of our activity division seasonal employees are expected to work between the 6-month period of May through October while extended season and returning employees may work an 8-month period from April through November. First-year sales and reservation team members should be available to work during our 8-month extended season (April – November) while returning and seasonal sales division team members can be expected to work between the 10-month period of February 15th and December 15th.

Working Environment & Schedule
Purchaser will primarily work form our Clearly Tahoe shop in Zephyr Cove, NV but may be expected to travel to other Clearly Tahoe retail shop locations from time to time.. Purchaser is a sales-division employee and will be responsible for Sales Associate duties and responsibilities by default. Purchaser may have access to an office workspace from time to time upon request and approval by the Sales Manager. Purchaser should be prepared to; travel to other Clearly Tahoe shop locations, vendor locations, storage locations as well as both on and off-site event location from time to time for routine inventory checks, deliveries and seasonal updated to displays or décor, purchase planning, marketing or training. Purchaser may be required to attend off-site meetings and trainings at other Clearly Tahoe locations.
Purchaser will be scheduled to work a normal shift at our Clearly Tahoe location in Zephyr Cove, NV but may be expected to work outside of those hours from time to time. Our Inventory Coordinator will be scheduled to work 8-hour days, 5 days per week from 10am-6pm. Duties may require adjusted hours seasonally or during sales events/promotions.
