Summary:
Our client within the Energy industry is seeking a Sr. IT Business Analyst | Functional Tester with strong functional testing experience to lead key testing and change management efforts for our Risk Application re-implementation project. This role will serve as a bridge between business stakeholders and the implementation team, ensuring that business requirements are fully understood, test strategies are aligned with end-user needs, and organizational change impacts are well managed and documented. This is a strategic initiative that will enhance our legal and safety processes across the enterprise.
Duties:
Business Analysis & Change Management
- Partner with business units, vendor implementation team and corporate stakeholders to translate business needs into clear, actionable testing requirements.
- Support change management activities, including stakeholder engagement, training coordination, and communication planning.
- Work closely with functional teams to understand current workflows and identify impacts of the new system.
Test Planning and Coordination
- Develop and lead the execution of functional test plans, including UAT and end-to-end testing.
- Facilitate UAT sessions, ensuring business users are prepared and supported throughout the process.
- Coordinate across multiple stakeholders to ensure alignment on testing scope, timelines, and priorities.
- Focus on business process validation rather than technical defect resolution.
Collaboration and Reporting
- Communicate testing progress and outcomes to project leadership and stakeholders.
- Lead collaborative discussions to resolve business process gaps or testing issues.
- Provide concise documentation of test outcomes, business impacts, and readiness for go-live.
Requirements:
- 8 years of experience in business analysis, functional testing, or related roles within IT or enterprise applications.
- Strong understanding of business process mapping, change management principles, and user adoption strategies.
- Experience planning and leading User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Ability to clearly communicate complex scenarios to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to drive consensus and navigate ambiguity in a cross-functional environment.
- Familiarity with QA/test management tools is helpful but not the primary focus.
- Experience with Origami Risk or similar EHS/Risk platforms is a plus.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
Other:
- Ability to travel 5–10% as needed.
- Hybrid work model: Minimum of 2 days per week in office, with flexibility to attend in-person meetings or events.
