Grading and Land Clearing Foreman

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Working Grade Foreman to oversee Land Clearing and Grading projects and ensure that work is completed safely, efficiently, and to high-quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a thorough understanding of Civil construction processes, tools, and safety regulations. As a Foreman, you will be responsible for managing a crew of workers, coordinating tasks, and maintaining compliance with OSHA standards while fostering a productive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team in daily operations on the civil construction site to ensure adherence to project plans and specifications.
• Manage and coordinate the activities of the other equipment operators on-site, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
• Conduct quality control inspections to ensure that all work meets industry standards and client expectations.
• Interpret schematics and blueprints to guide construction activities accurately.
• Train and mentor team members on proper use of tools and equipment.
• Address any issues or conflicts that arise on-site promptly and effectively.

Skills

• Strong understanding of Contour Lines and Grade stakes. We do not use GPS.
• Must be able to operate heavy equipment. (Skid steer, Bulldozer, Excavator, Haul Truck, Roller, etc.)
• Strong understanding of schematics and ability to read blueprints accurately.
• Experience in supervising teams in a construction setting with a focus on quality control.
• Ability to build strong relationships with team members while promoting a positive work culture.
• Knowledge of safety regulations, particularly OSHA standards, to ensure compliance on-site.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the capability to address challenges proactively.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week
