Terminal Janitorial Technician/Surgical Janitorial Technician

Position Overview:
The Technician is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards at an assigned location. This stable and specialized role requires consistency, attention to detail, and a commitment to ensuring that the assigned facility remains clean and hygienic.
Key Responsibilities:
- Terminal/Surgical:
- Disinfection of Critical Surfaces – Thoroughly sanitizing high-touch and high-risk areas such as operating tables, surgical lights, anesthesia machines, and medical equipment.
- Proper Use of Hospital-Grade Disinfectants – Ensuring the correct dwell times and application methods for disinfectants effective against pathogens like MRSA, C. diff, and COVID-19.
- Cleaning of Air Vents and Ceiling Fixtures – Addressing airborne contaminants by wiping down vents, light fixtures, and other overhead surfaces.
- Deep Cleaning of Floors and Walls – Using approved cleaning agents and techniques for surfaces exposed to biological matter.
- Sterile Room Reset – Ensuring all equipment, drapes, and supplies are positioned properly for the next procedure.
- Documentation & Compliance – Logging cleaning procedures and reporting any sanitation concerns to facility managers.
- Protective Equipment Usage – Wearing appropriate PPE such as gowns, gloves, masks, and shoe covers to prevent cross-contamination.
- Emergency Spill Response – Handling bodily fluid spills quickly and safely using designated cleanup protocols.
Perform routine cleaning tasks at the assigned location, including but not limited to:

Gather, empty trash, and replace liners in trash bins.

Clean floors and baseboards by sweeping, mopping, and/or vacuuming.

Dust vents, office furniture, equipment, sills, wall-mounted objects, etc., as per schedule.

Keep areas stocked with supplies such as paper products, soaps, etc.

Clean and sanitize areas such as restrooms, exam rooms, offices, break rooms, etc.

Clean high touch points such as glass, chrome fixtures, phones, etc.

Request supplies as needed to ensure that all necessary materials are on hand.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of janitor storage areas

Ensure buildings are secure by locking doors and turning on/off alarm systems

Notify the manager when a building requires minor repairs.

Adhere to specific cleaning requirements as detailed for each location.

Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the site manager.

Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed to company standards.

Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Good physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks.
- Strong time management skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Meet insurance requirements.

Job Description Summary:
