What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Associate position at Clearview Communities?
The Facilities Associate is a member of the Operations Team, which is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all CVC properties. Their primary daily tasks are cleaning, taking out trash, and assisting with minor maintenance repairs as needed. They will conduct preventative maintenance and repairs (as necessary) for all CVC properties in Downtown Frederick, MD.
The Facilities Associate must be able to work independently. They must also work collaboratively with the Operations Team, CVC staff, residents, and vendors. The Facilities Associate must be a “self-starter” and motivated to keep the CVC campus and its buildings clean, tidy, comfortable, and in working order.
REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED required. Candidates will have at least two (2) years of employed experience in the areas of commercial cleaning and maintenance of facilities. Experience working within a healthcare or educational setting is preferred but not required. Must have a valid driver’s license (CDL not required) and their own insured vehicle. Background check and driving history required. Excellent, clear communication skills and attention to detail required. Daily use of a computer required; must be proficient with composing and responding to e-mails daily. An “outside of the box”-minded individual and motivated problem-solver will excel at this position. Compassion for individuals with chronic and persistent mental illness is a fundamental requirement of all CVC employees.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Facilities Associate will be responsible for the following tasks:
JANITORIAL
1. Daily cleaning and upkeep of the CVC Office, Studio, and Wellness Center to include vacuuming carpets, cleaning restrooms, removing trash and recycling, dusting, sweeping, mopping floors, cleaning windows, and keeping the CVC campus tidy.
2. Responsible for weekly trash and recycling management.
3. Maintains a clean and professional work area, free of potential hazards.
4. Performs work to ensure the health and safety of CVC residents, staff, and visitors.
5. Stores cleaning supplies in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
6. Arranges offices, communal areas, and group home living quarters as needed.
7. Maintains materials and equipment in a safe and operable condition.
8. Manages and maintains inventory of facilities equipment, materials, and supplies.
9. Sanitizes equipment and materials weekly or as needed, relative to the equipment.
MAINTENANCE
1. Conducts routine safety and preventative maintenance inspections at all CVC properties.
2. Performs general building maintenance such as minor repairs and upkeep as needed.
3. Performs general, sometimes seasonal, outdoor maintenance at all CVC properties.
4. Picks up, delivers, loads, and unloads equipment, materials, and supplies as needed.
5. Reports maintenance related issues to the Facilities Manager and Operations Director.
6. Monitors the condition of CVC properties on a daily basis, repairing or cleaning as needed.
7. Participates in supervision with the Operations Director and in Operations Team meetings.
8. Works collaboratively with the Facilities Manager and Operations Director.
9. Acts as a point of contact, in collaboration with the Facilities Manager, for contractors coming on-site to conduct repairs and routine maintenance.
GENERAL
1. Interacts with CVC residents, staff, and visitors with a manner of respect and professionalism consistent with CVC’s core values and mission.
2. Communicates clearly via computer, phone, and text messaging during work hours.
3. Responds to e-mails promptly, confirming the acknowledgement and completion of tasks.
4. Responds promptly to facility-related emergencies and/or requests.
5. Performs other duties as assigned as consistent with facilities cleaning and maintenance.
6. Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory staff trainings.
