Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated IT Specialist to join our dynamic team in the civil engieering industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of information technology, help desk support, cyber security, and hardware inventory and software subscription management. The IT Specialist reports to the IT Committee as well as interact directly with the ownership group, IT Consultant, and Accounting department, and all end-users of the firm. This position will be responsible for providing technical support to our staff in accordance with the company IT operating security guidelines and infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
Help Desk Support
- Provide timely and effective technical support to end-users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer systems and peripherals.
- Respond to help desk tickets and ensure issues are resolved promptly and efficiently.
Cyber Security Awareness:
- Develop and deliver cyber security awareness training to employees.
- Create and distribute educational materials on best practices for maintaining cyber security.
- Lead an internal user group to promote a culture of security awareness within the organization.
- Monitor user phishing reports to protect against cyber threats and unauthorized access.
- Work to maintain the policies, procedures, and protocols to safeguard company data.
- Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability testing to identify and mitigate risks.
PC Management:
- Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups to ensure the reliability and performance of computer systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues, including network connectivity problems.
- Work directly with Accounting Department to procure hardware
- Maintain and manage PC hardware inventory.
Software Subscription Management:
- Work directly with the Accounting Department to manage and track software licenses and subscriptions
- Ensure compliance with licensing agreements.
- Assist in the procurement, installation, and renewal of software subscriptions.
- Provide training and support to staff on the use of software applications.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT support, help desk, or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of cyber security principles and best practices focusing on internet security and data privacy.
- Experience with PC management, including hardware and software troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with software subscription management and licensing agreements.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated worker with outstanding organizational and time management skills
Preferred:
- Experience with Autodesk/AutoCAD
- CompTIA A Certification
- CompTIA Security Certification
- Microsoft 365 Certified Professional Certification
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
