The Environmental Scientist will facilitate land development approvals and permitting.

· Wetland delineations, field reviews and agency coordination (state and federal).
· Knowledge of wetland indicator plants, hydric soils and wetland hydrology.
· Wetland impact permitting with Water Management Districts, US Army Corps of Engineers (COE), counties and local governments.
· Wetland impact functional assessment (UMAM) scoring.
· Listed species studies and “take”/relocation permitting.
· Outline and plan data collection methods to be used for land development approvals.
· Collect and analyze environmental data.
· Study data to determine its validity, quality, and scientific significance.
· Analyze correlations between human activities and environmental effects.
· Prepare reports, exhibits, oral briefings, and documents to communicate scientific and technical information to clients and agencies.
· Provide information to governmental agencies, environmental programs, industries, or the public.
· Review and study environmental technical standards, guidelines, and regulations.

Educational/Vocational/Previous Experience Recommendations:
· Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
· Five years of related experience.
· Microsoft Office Suite proficiency required.
· GIS and/or AutoCAD experience desired.

· Ability to traverse various types of terrain for extended periods of time.
· Physical ability to perform outdoor field work.
· Able to work outside in a variety of weather conditions.
· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
