What are the responsibilities and job description for the Echo and/or Vascular Technologist position at Clearwater Cardiovascular Consultants?
Pinellas County’s premier Cardiovascular Group is seeking a full-time echo and or vascular technologist who is proficient in the performance of echo and stress echo and/or capable of performing carotid duplex, PVR studies, venous duplex, and abdominal vascular studies.
Education: Must have completed an accredited sonography program.
Experience: One to four plus years work experience, preferably in a cardiovascular setting.
Certification/Registration: Must be registered or able to obtain registration within one year of hire date from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) RVT/RDCS or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) RVS/RCS. American Heart Association BLS is required.
Candidates with vascular experience may be given preference. Candidate must be organized, possess good verbal, interpersonal, and customer relations skills. Candidate should have a basic understanding of math, be analytical, understand grammar / spelling, along with reading and comprehending written instructions in addition to following verbal instructions. Should be computer literate and possess some clerical skills.

What You Will Be Doing
- Perform echocardiograms on patients to assess heart function and detect abnormalities
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment ensuring it functions correctly
- Explain procedures to patients and address any concerns they may have
- Review and interpret preliminary results, highlighting any abnormal findings for the cardiologist
- Record and store echocardiogram images and patient information in the medical records system
- Collaborate with cardiologists and other healthcare team members to ensure accurate diagnosis and treatment
- Follow safety protocols and infection control procedures to ensure patient and staff safety
- Monitor patient vitals and response during the procedure to ensure their well-being
- Maintain continuing education and stay updated with advances in echocardiography technology and practices
- Provide support to patients and their families during the diagnostic procedure.
