WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
We are looking for a full-time Exercise Physiologist to assist the Nuclear and/or Echo Departments with supervising stress treadmill and pharmacologic stress testing. To perform routine treadmills, EKGs, and blood pressure checks. To prepare all charts and paperwork for all the above procedures. Application of cardiac monitoring devices, Holter analysis and scanning.
- Directly supervise the stress testing of the Nuclear and Echo departments, ensuring high quality care and an emphasis on patient safety.
- Review stress testing appropriateness based on patient’s current health status, ability to perform test, symptoms and vitals.
- Review and interpret 12 lead ECGs prior and during stress testing. Identify any abnormalities and communicate findings to the attending physician as needed.
- Perform stress test, instructing patient throughout testing. Assess patient responses to stress testing and determine appropriate endpoints.
- Recognize potential complications and initiate appropriate reversal medication and/or interventions in an emergency situation.
- Review and verify the accuracy of all patient data collected during the stress tests.
- Prepare pharmacologic agents for IV infusion.
- Reporting testing results – Enter patient data, prepare initial drafts of reports and assist physician in completing reports.
- Be familiar with all emergency and code procedures and ACLS medications.
- Cardiac monitoring device patient hookup-connect and instruct patient of proper device usage.
- Cardiac monitoring – Holter monitor analysis, high proficiency in rhythm recognition, application of various monitoring devices.
WHO YOU ARE:
Degree in Exercise physiology, EKG certification, Holter analysis training with proficient rhythm recognition. BLS and ACLS Certification required. Phlebotomy, excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, dependability, and preferred motivated individuals.
