Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Nuclear Technician II to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using nuclear medicine technology. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, as well as proficiency in aseptic techniques and diagnostic evaluations. The Nuclear Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and comfort of patients while delivering high-quality imaging results.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Conduct various nuclear medicine scans, including PET scans, to assist in the diagnosis of medical conditions.
- Operate imaging equipment and perform quality control checks to ensure accurate results.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to interpret scan results and provide necessary information for patient care.
- Maintain detailed records of procedures performed, including patient information and imaging results.
- Educate patients on the procedures they will undergo, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
- Uphold strict adherence to health and safety regulations related to radiation exposure and infection control.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong knowledge of nuclear medicine principles and practices.
- Familiarity with medical imaging techniques and equipment operation.
- Proficiency in aseptic technique and diagnostic evaluation methods.
- Understanding of medical terminology relevant to nuclear medicine.
- Solid knowledge of anatomy and physiology as it relates to imaging procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients and healthcare team members.
WHO YOU ARE:
High School Diploma
A certificate from the Nuclear Medicine Technologist degree is required
A current Florida license
One year of experience in cardiac nuclear medicine
Salary 70,949-88,172
