Job Summary
The Benefits and Compliance Specialist is responsible for the administration of CWS employee benefits and assisting in the development and review of policies, procedures, and audits to ensure compliance with State and Federal employment regulations.
Responsibilities
- Compliance
- Plan, direct, and coordinate activities for the organization to ensure compliance with ethical and regulatory standards including ACA, HIPAA, and others, as applicable.
- Maintain documentation of compliance activities, such as complaints received or investigation outcomes.
- File appropriate compliance reports with regulatory agencies.
- Complete internal investigations for compliance issues.
- Conduct periodic internal reviews and audits to ensure that policies and procedures are being followed.
- Advise internal management on the implementation and operation of compliance programs.
- Direct the development and implementation of compliance-related policies and procedures throughout the organization.
- Verify that all firm and regulatory policies and procedures have been documented, implemented, and communicated.
- Manage all external benefits and compliance related reports or audits.

- Lead the annual open enrollment process.
- Ensure the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
- Perform quality checks of benefits-related data.
- Assist employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes.
- Respond to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes, and other general inquiries.
- Process and administer all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA.
- Respond to 401(k) inquiries from managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes and contribution amounts.
- Collaborate with Finance organization to provide necessary reports for allocation/billing charges.

Qualifications
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, or a similar field preferred
- Experience in Human Resource compliance
- Experience in employee benefits administration
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Preferred
- Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws.
- Extensive knowledge of Human Resource laws and regulations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
