Position Overview:
The Regulatory Compliance Manager will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, permits, and environmental standards related to our water and wastewater operations. This role is critical in maintaining our company's adherence to environmental regulations and upholding our commitment to providing safe and sustainable water services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background and progressive experience in regulatory compliance, excellent knowledge of water/wastewater regulations, and the ability to implement effective compliance programs.
Key Responsibilities:

Regulatory Compliance Oversight: Monitor and interpret federal, state, and local environmental regulations and permits relevant to water and wastewater management. Ensure the company's compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Permitting and Reporting: Manage and oversee the preparation and submission of regulatory permits, reports, and documentation required for water and wastewater operations. Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of submissions.

Compliance Audits: Conduct regular internal compliance audits to assess the company's adherence to regulatory requirements. Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.

Environmental Monitoring: Oversee environmental monitoring activities, such as water quality testing and pollutant monitoring, to ensure compliance with environmental standards and permits.

Regulatory Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and authorities. Collaborate with regulatory officials on compliance matters, responding to inquiries and addressing any issues that may arise.

Policy Development: Develop and implement compliance policies, procedures, and best practices. Ensure that employees are informed about relevant regulations and compliance expectations.

Training and Education: Provide training and education to employees on regulatory compliance matters, emphasizing the importance of adherence to environmental standards.

Environmental Management Systems: Implement and maintain environmental management systems to track compliance with regulations and improve environmental performance.

Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments to identify potential compliance risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.

Qualifications
Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental or Civil Engineering, or a related field is highly preferred, but will consider relevant work experience in lieu of a degree. An advanced degree or relevant certifications are advantageous.

Proven experience as a Regulatory Compliance Manager or Supervisor, Environmental Compliance Specialist, or similar role within the water/wastewater utilities industry

Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations, including those related to water and wastewater management.

Familiarity with water quality standards, wastewater treatment processes, and environmental monitoring protocols.

Experience in permitting processes and working with regulatory agencies.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders.

State-issued water & wastewater certifications will be required to obtain if not currently held
Salary : $75,000 - $85,000
