Function:
The Rigging lead oversees the rigging dept in prep, operation, and maintenance of entertainment rigging equipment and ensures the successful prep of Clearwing shows and rentals. The ideal candidate is an experienced technician with excellent interpersonal skills who can uphold Clearwing standards and helps to provide a professional work environment both in-house and on job sites A successful Rigging Lead displays leadership and management skills for both short and long-term success and is committed to maintaining excellent standards in customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Forecast staffing needs and pursue additional support with the Site Manager as needed.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new standards, improvements, training, and efficiencies within the department.
- Work with Engineering to create rigging systems, double check gear lists for accuracy, and communicate inventory discrepancies.
- Maintain, inspect, and assist in repairing motors, Sumner Lifts, motor distros, and other rigging items in Clearwing inventory.
- Assist in keeping accurate records of all certifications and work done on rigging equipment.
- Pull, prep and pack rigging gear for all projects with the help of the warehouse staff.
- Be the onsite rigging lead for specified shows as needed.
- Assist clients/other technicians via phone, email, or in person to troubleshoot rigging problems effectively.
- Collaborate with Engineering on advanced show paperwork including Calculating load requirements and power consumption for rigging systems
- Reports any safety concerns back to Engineering.
- Enter and maintain project documentation in accordance with company standards.
- Attend project meetings as needed.
- Report all safety concerns to Site manager.
- Assist other company departments as work demands.
Qualifications
Skill/Experience Requirements
- Minimum of three (3) years of field installation experience.
- Competent in the use of power tools, hand tools, and measuring devices.
- Possess basic math skills necessary for a construction environment.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
Physical Working Conditions
- Regularly bend, twist, stretch, push, pull and carry, lift 50-75 lbs.
- Comfortably work at heights, on ladders, lifts, and stage grids.
- Physical ability to walk, crawl, and work in difficult positions and areas.
- Work in various temperatures and outdoor weather conditions.
- Valid Drivers’ License and Clean MVR.
