About Us

Cleaveland/Price specializes in the design and manufacture of high voltage disconnect switches and switch automation products.  The products that we offer are unique in design, and some include patented features. Products have been developed and tested in accordance with IEEE, ANSI, and NEMA standards for high voltage equipment. They are primarily used by investor-owned and public electric utilities and large industrial operations in substation, distribution, transmission, and generation applications.

All company operations take place in a modern 218,300 sq. ft. multi-site facility situated on 20 acres east of Trafford, PA. The facility houses virtually all resources for product realization, including engineering, supply chain, parts fabrication, electro-mechanical assembly, and testing. Fabrication capabilities include laser and plasma cutting, CNC machining, CNC punching, and automated bending and forming. The company also utilizes specialized processes, such as MIG and TIG welding, friction welding, silver and tin electroplating, and silver brazing.

Your Goal

As a Facilities Engineer at Cleaveland/Price, your primary goal will be to contribute to the advancement of various disconnect switch product lines through planning, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure and equipment of buildings and facilities.  You will be responsible for ensuring that the building functions optimally while continuing to meet health, safety, and regulatory requirements. Your expertise will be required to manage facilities related projects and provide technical expertise in the areas of site development, construction, and utilities.  Your sound knowledge of engineering principles will allow you to manage facility expansion and new construction projects aimed at supporting the companies’ strong trajectory of growth.  Additionally, we would like you to have the ability to produce your own layout and facilities drawings, while collaborating with external engineering resources and regulatory agencies. Finally, this individual should be comfortable working in a hands-on environment, and ensure their work meets all applicable standards

Your Responsibilities

Under the guidance of a supervisor or a more experienced engineer, you will:

• Define specifications for facilities equipment and construction projects. 
• Seek quotes and develop robust project plans with timelines and clear completion targets. 
• Responsible for changes to the building layout drawings and collaborating with the production engineering team to develop future state layouts for work areas and machines.
• Plan, design, and supervise the construction of new, or existing, facilities in support of Cleaveland Price’s goals.
• Responsible for contractor management including supervising and scheduling the work of non-employee (contractor) groups during project activities and for preventive maintenance of facility systems.
• Document projects and designs by creating CAD drawings, technical reports, project plans, and proposal presentations.
• Investigate unplanned events affecting facility operations and take appropriate corrective and preventive actions to preclude recurrence.  Lead the creation of related procedures, processes, and trainings.
• Support the development of the future strategic plans for the site.

Your Background

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology from an ABET accredited program or related field.
• AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor and Vault software experience or equivalent required.
• Electric power systems knowledge preferred but not required.
• Problem-solving and critical thinking ability.
• Interpersonal skills and teamwork abilities, with effective and efficient verbal and written communication.
• Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for Cleaveland/Price in the US.
• This position is available at two different career levels depending on experience, education, etc. 
  • Level I: 0-2 years of experience.
  • Level II: 2-4 years of experience.
  • An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for up to two years of experience.
