Position Title: Maintenance Technician

Immediate Supervisor Title: Maintenance Supervisor  

Department: Maintenance

Location: Trafford, PA

 

Brief Summary of Position Purpose:

A Cleaveland Price Maintenance Technician will be in charge of performing ongoing facility maintenance and completing repairs in all building and facility equipment and fixtures.  These duties may include plumbing of all types, minor HVAC upkeep, regular building maintenance indoor and outdoor repairs, painting, assembling of furniture, office remodeling, inspecting the building to confirm safety standards and scheduling major repairs when necessary.  

Work may be conducted indoors or outdoors, at varying heights and depths, and may require the use of ladders, fork trucks, man lifts, and other maintenance equipment

 

Essential Functions:

  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance tasks within and around the facility to ensure the ongoing operation of equipment and systems.
  • Execute a wide range of assigned tasks related to electrical, mechanical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, carpentry, painting, and other construction or maintenance responsibilities. This includes repairing and maintaining building fixtures.
  • Continuously identify and address safety hazards to maintain a secure work environment. Proactively take measures to prevent accidents and incidents.
  • Ensure that all maintenance and repair work is carried out accurately, safely, and within specified timeframes. Prioritize tasks based on urgency and potential impact on operations.
  • Ensure that all work practices are fully compliant with OSHA and ISO standards, adhering to relevant regulations and industry best practices.
  • Utilization of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and task-specific tools and equipment by the maintenance team. This includes conducting regular safety equipment checks.
  • Collaborate with team members to address technical challenges and provide guidance (when applicable) on repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment. Ensure organization of tools, equipment, and materials in designated storage areas. Establish maintenance work areas are well-organized and safe for all employees.
  • Keep detailed records of maintenance and repair activities, including work completed, parts used, and any potential issues identified. Prepare regular reports on maintenance operations and equipment status.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and contractors as needed for specialized maintenance or repair tasks. Ensure that vendors meet the company's standards and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain and monitor the inventory of spare parts and supplies to ensure the availability of critical components for repairs and maintenance.

 

Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • General knowledge of manufacturing environment hazards/MSDS.
  • Proficient knowledge of building systems such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
  • Ability to identify issues and potential hazards to help determine what repairs are needed.
  • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

 

Physical Requirements

The role of a Facilities Maintenance Technician may involve various physical demands. These demands can range from performing routine maintenance tasks within and around the facility to tackling a variety of construction and maintenance duties, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, carpentry, painting, and more. Maintenance work may be carried out both indoors and outdoors, and it may require the technician to work at varying heights and depths.

In the course of their duties, Facilities Maintenance Technicians may need to utilize equipment such as ladders, fork trucks, and man lifts, among other maintenance equipment, to access different areas of the facility. These activities may involve frequent standing, walking, climbing, and reaching, as well as lifting and carrying various tools and materials. It is crucial for the technician to be capable of working safely and efficiently, adhering to proper maintenance and repair practices.

Furthermore, the job may require the use of standard personal protective equipment (PPE) on the shop floor or in other work areas where it is mandated. This includes wearing steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and any other necessary PPE to ensure the safety and well-being of all employees while performing maintenance tasks.

Qualifications


Credentials, Certifications & Industry-Specific Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Plumbing, HVAC, OR carpentry experience preferred, but not all required. Related certifications a plus.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain certification to operate fork trucks, man lifts and other maintenance equipment that requires specific training and competence.
  • Valid PA driver’s license
