Production Leader

Job Overview:
The Group Leader oversees the manufacturing activities within their production department. The Group Leader is responsible for product quality and meeting daily/weekly production rates. Group Leaders are required to assemble, train, and lead by example for the production operators. They assure their department has all tools and materials and the schedules necessary to complete their scheduled production. Must assure that their dept is clean and 6-S compliant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Enforce safety requirements, including workers wearing proper PPE

· Lead and coordinate activities of workers

· Responsible for production output, count accuracy, and completing MO’s

· Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results

· Provide a clear sense of direction and focus prior to each shift

· Train all new workers and assure all SOPs are followed as required

· Lead dept to assure efficient production and keep scrap as low as possible

· Notify supervisor of any obstacles to achieving production rates or quality

· Inspect equipment/tools for defects and notify maintenance of any required repairs

· Strong process orientation, production competence, and time management skills

· Knowledge of every position in the department

· Influence and learn from below

· Maintain a clean and organized cell/dept area

· Assure all documents and labels are completed per SOPs

· Responsible for quality of all products produced in dept. Perform quality checks throughout shift

· Other duties as assigned

· Responsible for posting in the ERP system

Minimum Qualifications and Skill Required

· Bilingual (English-Spanish)

· Proven ability to read tape measure in 1/16 increments and convert to decimals

· Demonstrate basic competence in addition/subtraction (without paper or calculator)

· Ability to identify various metals and properly dispose of scrap

· Ability to create accountability and to lead by example

· Strong team building, decision-making, and people skills

Physical Requirements

· Able to lift up to 60lb

· Able to stand long periods of time

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, saws and bending machines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
