Since 1965, Clem's has been bringing quality meats to local grocers, restaurants, schools, and institutional customers. While our primary business is set up to take care of larger customers, we have always enjoyed taking care of caterers, home cooks, and backyard BBQ'ers here in the bluegrass.
A third generation business, family has always been an important part of our service. We take pride in producing a high quality product and selling it at a great price. Clem's is a USDA inspected facility and produces many fresh products like ground beef, chuck, and hamburger patties five days a week.
POSITION PURPOSE
The ideal Clem’s Warehouse Specialist is an organized, high energy, and detail oriented individual that does not mind working in an extremely cold environment. This position supports the operational efficiency of Clem’s Delivery Drivers by preparing products for transit throughout Kentucky with speed and accuracy. The Clem’s Warehouse Specialist is responsible for providing extreme attention to detail when pulling client orders while ensuring product integrity standards are met, including handling goods safely and in accordance with company policy and all local and federal laws. This involves securely palletizing and labeling products for transit, maintaining order and cleanliness in work areas, and loading delivery vehicles.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs physical labor in a commercial warehouse freezer with temperatures reaching as low as -10 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Prepares client orders to be pulled in the freezer using mental math and knowledge of inventory balances, client location, route order, and truck capacity.
- Utilizes motorized pallet jacks to hand build each customer order according to standard operating procedures in a time efficient manner.
- Repeatedly enters and exits the freezer, which subjects the specialist to extreme temperature fluctuations in the working environment, to properly label and securely wrap each customer order/pallet.
- Uses critical thinking and problem solving skills in order to make adjustments as needed to ensure designated orders all fit within the delivery vehicle’s capacity limitations.
- Ensures customer order sheets are accurate, properly documented, and submitted in an orderly manner at the end of each day.
- Communicates any problems and inquiries to the appropriate personnel in a timely fashion.
- Operates company equipment in a safe and efficient manner in an effort to minimize risk of injury and equipment damage.
- Monitors and evaluates equipment function and reports maintenance issues to the VP Operations for follow-up.
- Complies with all local, state and federal laws governing commercial food distribution.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
