Job Title: Food Safety Sanitation Coordinator
Location: Coldwater
Shift: 3rd Shift M-F with Occasional Weekends
Reports to: Food Safety Sanitation Manager
Position Overview:
The Food Safety Sanitation Coordinator is responsible for supporting sanitation activities and ensuring adherence to food safety standards within the plant. This individual will be instrumental in verification activities and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sanitation. The role involves working closely with the Food Safety Sanitation Manager to maintain a safe and clean environment for food production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Food Safety Sanitation Manager in achieving sanitation-related KPIs and performing essential duties.
- Verify daily chemical usage, including titrations and proper application, to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
- Verify preoperative activities and results to ensure proper sanitation before production starts.
- Conduct daily general sanitation verifications to ensure that sanitation protocols are followed.
- Provide training on sanitation procedures and policies to staff as needed.
- Manage and track supply inventory, ensuring that necessary sanitation materials are available.
- Maintain an accurate chemical inventory and track usage to ensure proper handling and compliance.
- Monitor and report on sanitation KPIs to assess the effectiveness of cleaning activities and ensure continuous improvement.
- Track and monitor MSS (Master Sanitation Schedule) data and support follow-up actions based on results.
- Perform EMP (Environmental Monitoring Program) follow-ups and ensure any required actions are taken to address issues.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required); relevant certifications in food safety or sanitation are a plus.
- Previous experience in food safety, sanitation, or quality assurance preferred.
- Knowledge of chemical safety, sanitation procedures, and food safety regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform accurate verifications and recordkeeping.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and training skills.
- Ability to work on 3rd shift and adapt to flexible work schedules.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift materials up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including exposure to chemicals and cleaning agents.
