What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sow Farm Manager position at Clemens Food Group?
What You Would Be Doing :
- You will oversee production of a 5,000 sow unit and lead up to 21 Team Members
- You will report to the Regional Manager and will be a hands-on manager overseeing operations including employee management, performance management, compliance, and safety
- You will lead with a focus on efficiency and developing the team of up to 10 Team Members
- You will manage all aspects of the performance of the team including defining target, coaching, training and development, and scheduling
- You will work closely with HR and Regional Manager on determining hiring needs and conduct on-site interviews
- You will facilitate weekly farm meetings to engage team members
- You will work with Nursery Service Manager on health and numbers; communicate health challenges
- You will execute animal care plans including vaccination and med plan
- You will execute continuous improvement plans
- You will monitor budgets and targets
- You will execute biosecurity program, animal welfare program and production policies
- You will ensure all team members are PQA trained
- You will participate in monthly regional farm meetings and quarterly whole system meetings
- You will assist in developing and setting farm budgets and targets
- You will develop a yearly business plan with Sow Service and update quarterly
