Qualifications
A PhD completed by the start date is required, as is expertise in empirical research and analysis techniques. Applicants from a variety of fields will be considered. However, preference will be given to those with a PhD (or anticipated PhD) in a business discipline and experience in the study of online, especially social media, deception. Strong applicants will demonstrate the ability to apply relevant techniques to business and marketing contexts (e.g., fake reviews, fraudulent advertising, business scams, etc.).

The Selected Applicant Will
- contribute to current and ongoing research projects that focus on business and marketing implications of online deception and inauthenticity,
- develop and lead their own research program in this area by working with faculty, staff, and students at Clemson University and others outside of the university,
- actively participate in the interdisciplinary community of scholars doing work in this area at Clemson University by bringing their own disciplinary expertise to bear, and
- regularly engage in-person with both the Media Forensics Hub and Department of Marketing. The position will support Clemson’s strong research program in disinformation and media forensics by improving the ability to access and analyze reliable and comparable data across platforms, particularly in business and marketing.
