ABOUT THE ROLE
The Investment Planning Manager works closely with the Investment Planning senior team providing strategic investment decision analysis mainly for early and mid stage renewable energy projects (Solar and Battery). Responsible for creating, maintaining, and using excel based complex financial models used to evaluate and support critical company investment/divestment decisions, supports development analysis and assist Director of Investment Planning in training the Investment team and reviewing financial models.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Use long term forecast models to analyze potential capital projects using valuation techniques, including IRR and NPV.
- Provide modeling, pricing, and analytical support to internal teams (e.g., Development, Origination, Procurement, Capital Markets) and senior management.
- Manage modeling requests for companies’ early/mid-stage development pipeline, overseeing analysis of PPA, Land Lease, Interconnection and other development milestones.
- Update and refine proforma valuation model, validate macroeconomic and project-specific model inputs, run scenario analyses, and quantify risk.
- Oversee maintenance and refinement of critical company investment analysis tools such as financial model, assumption roadmap and project specific Investment dossiers.
- Support efforts to design processes and tools that will increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the Investment Planning Team in collaboration with Director of Investment Planning and VP.
- Communicate results of economic and risk analyses to senior management
- Collaborate across departments to ensure project model integrity and accuracy.
- Provide support supervision of Analyst and Associate modeling work, BvA review and other variety of business initiatives.
- Ensure the accuracy and reliability of all financial data in financial models.
- Maintain organizational excellence in terms of project timelines and deliverables.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, energy/environmental, or any quantitative discipline (economics, mathematics, engineering).
- Experience: 4 years in project valuation in power sector preferable in the renewable finance space.
- Strong understanding of valuation concepts and DCF analyses
- Strong Excel financial modelling skills, able to build models from scratch using advanced Excel formulas and features and analyze/learn complex financial models quickly and independently. VBA programming skills a strong plus
- Renewable energy Tax Equity structuring, project financing and analytical experience is highly preferred.
