We are looking for a skilled and motivated Dell Engineer to join our IT team. The Dell Engineer will be responsible for the deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of Dell hardware and software solutions, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our IT infrastructure. This position requires strong technical expertise in Dell products, including servers, storage systems, and workstations, along with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments to meet the organization's IT needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain Dell hardware, including PowerEdge servers, VxRail, and storage solutions (e.g., Dell EMC), desktops, and laptops, ensuring alignment with business requirements and industry best practices.
- Provide expert-level technical support for Dell hardware and systems, quickly identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime and maintain system performance.
- Monitor and optimize the performance of Dell hardware, ensuring scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency. Perform regular health checks and system upgrades, applying firmware and software patches as necessary.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate Dell infrastructure into existing networks and cloud environments, including virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and hybrid cloud solutions.
- Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions for Dell storage systems, ensuring data protection and compliance with business continuity plans.
- Maintain accurate documentation of Dell systems, configurations, and network designs. Provide regular performance reports and update technical documentation to reflect system changes or upgrades.
- Ensure all Dell systems are compliant with internal security protocols, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Perform regular audits and vulnerability assessments on Dell hardware and software.
- Share best practices and provide training to internal teams and end-users on the optimal use and maintenance of Dell products. Keep up-to-date with the latest Dell technologies and industry trends.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including network engineers, security teams, and IT support staff, to address complex issues and enhance overall system performance and reliability.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience with Dell hardware, including PowerEdge servers, Dell EMC storage solutions, VxRail, desktops, and laptops.
- Hands-on experience with Dell management tools such as OpenManage, iDRAC, and Dell EMC storage management software.
- Strong understanding of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud integration.
- Proficiency in system troubleshooting, hardware diagnostics, and performance tuning.
- Experience in backup management and disaster recovery planning for Dell systems.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols and security best practices.
- Familiarity with automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Ansible) for infrastructure management and configuration.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Dell certifications (e.g., Dell EMC Proven Professional, Dell Certified Systems Expert) are preferred.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with cloud services and hybrid environments (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Knowledge of ITIL practices and frameworks for managing IT services.
- Familiarity with enterprise-level monitoring tools and capacity planning.
- Experience with automation tools like Terraform or Puppet.
