PROJECT NAME MCHS Support
PROJECT DETAILS
- MDPSCIC is requesting the services of a contractor to assist in the upgrading supporting and longterm maintenance of their Mississippi Criminal History System (MCHS). MDPS seeks to acquire the services of a contractor qualified to perform specific programming and development services for this system. MCHS is a missioncritical 24X7 system built using open source software products along with stateowned customdeveloped application software. The system is built on Red Hat Enterprise Linux running within a virtual machine. The PostgreSQL DBMS is used to store Mississippi criminal history repository data. Developed software is written in C and C with embedded SQL and in Java using JDBC. An extensive web interface is used for reporting application management and statistics. In addition tailored web applications provide processing support to CIC staff for functions including courtordered expunctions arrest dispositions civil background check requests and repository maintenance. Shell and other scripting tools are used for system and application admin functions. Secure email using Postfix and Dovecot packages is used to interface with fingerprint scanning stations throughout the state and with the FBI NGI system.
