What are the responsibilities and job description for the Loan Documentation Attorney position at Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County?
Lowis & Gellen LLP is in need of a part-time Of Counsel 1099 attorney with loan documentation experience who is admitted to practice in the state of Illinois. Consistent with our commitment to working parents, the candidate can work from home with occasional travel to court or closings.

Ideally, the candidate’s experience would include :
- Commercial finance
- Secured lending
- Reviewing contracts and loan documents
- Reviewing title
- Preparing loan-related documents, including promissory notes, mortgages, credit agreements, security agreements, UCCs, indemnities, guaranties, subordination agreements, and business organization documents
- Documenting loan transactions (drafting loan documents on behalf of financial institutions that may involve lien perfection issues, collateral, and cross-collateral)
- Performing due diligence
- Preparing attorney opinion letters
Admission to the Indiana bar and / or knowledge of SBA or Agricultural lending procedures are also a plus, but not required.
