Job Summary

As a Veterinary Assistant, you will support veterinarians and veterinary technicians in providing high-quality care to animals in a clinical setting. Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures by preparing instruments and equipment.
- Perform routine tasks such as taking vital signs, administering medications, and monitoring animal health.
- Provide compassionate care to animals, ensuring their comfort and well-being during visits.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including sterilizing instruments and managing waste disposal according to aseptic techniques.
- Handle various animals safely and effectively, including dogs, cats, and exotics
- Keep accurate records of patient histories, treatments administered, and any observations made during examinations.
- Scribe Duties for doctors to include recording patient exams and lab findings
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant or in a related field is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal anatomy is essential for effective communication within the team.
- Strong skills in animal handling with experience in dog handling; familiarity with exotics is a plus.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining a calm demeanor with both animals and clients.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact positively with pet owners and team members alike.
- A commitment to providing high-quality animal care while adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
- Willingness to learn new techniques and stay updated on veterinary practices.
