We are seeking a Youth Services Specialist to create and present programs and conduct virtual storytimes for all ages, with a focus on youth. The position also provides direct customer services through our public service desk, book recommendations, shelving, sorting, and special tasks, as well as creating and maintaining partnerships within the community. Responsibilities: Responsible for providing direct library service to people of all ages, especially youth. Develops, plans, and conducts a variety of innovative programs for youth and families both in the library and as outreach to the community. Answers reference and reader's advisory questions for all ages using a variety of formats. Maintains a working knowledge of the Library's collections, technology, services, and trends in library services for people of all ages, particularly youth.
Requirements: Comprehensive understanding across diverse subjects. Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities essential. Demonstrated leadership skills preferred. Proficiency in computer usage, including electronic devices, necessary. Flexibility to work during days, evenings, and weekends essential. Successful completion of pre-employment background check mandatory. Reliable transportation with valid insurance documentation required.
Bachelor's degree required.
Rate: Minimum $16.00 per hour
Pay Grade 4, non-exempt
Full-Time (40 hours per week)
