Monday - Friday 8 : 00am - 4 : 30pm (hours may vary) Non-exempt, Unclassified
Pay : Negotiable depending on qualifications / experience
JOB OVERVIEW : We are looking for a professional with a friendly attitude and the ability to multi-task in a busy environment to serve the public at Probate Court. This position is part of a team and will require you to work together and do so with a high level of accuracy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES :
- Process descendants estates, trusts, conservatorships, guardianships, commitments, adoptions, marriage licenses, name changes and other probate matters
- Assist court personnel in locating files and documents
- Process new cases and incoming information by assigning a case number and entering it into the computer system
- Review documents for completeness and appropriate signatures
- Prepare folders and index documents for scanning
- Verify compliance with applicable regulations
- Review, evaluate and process a variety of files prior to hearings
- Schedule hearings and notice parties
- Oversee Court attendance
- Monitor compliance with pertinent laws, statutes and rules of practice
- Assist Judge with research materials and consults with Judge on research matters as required
- Prepare file notices for the Judge
- Review or supervise review of fiduciary accountings
- Send citations and notices on delinquent cases
- Act as a liaison with other state and governmental agencies
- Respond to calls and e-mail requests
- Prepare correspondence and memos
- Provide staff training and assistance
- Ensure the proper receipt and deposit of all court funds
- Act as a billing and accounts receivable coordinator
- Prepare and maintain financial records and reports for probate administration as well as Supreme Court reports
