POSITION SUMMARY:
The rehabilitation technician will provide support to the director, therapists, and therapy assistants through manual assistance or administrative assignments to allow for improved efficiency and seamless transition between patients. He/she will also provide assistance with direct patient care as deemed appropriate by the therapist in a supportive manner according to the patient’s needs.

PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adhere to all policies of the organization, including (but not limited to) job description, certification/licensure requirements, mission statement, HIPAA, confidentiality standards and patient’s rights.
- Actively engage and stay up to date with organization’s communications and directives.
- Maintain equipment and supplies avaibility and place orders and requests to the director as needed.
- Maintains clean, safe, and well-equipped therapy environment, which may include but is not limited to the cleaning of treatment equipment and surfaces (mats, mirrors), and maintaining equipment check logs as required.
- Assists with administrative duties such as copying, filing, faxing, reports, and other computer related duties assigned.
- Transports patients to and from therapy (in-pt) treatment area when requested.
- Obtain supplies and equipment needed for patient care.
- Assist in implementing emergency procedures within the department.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings or organizational meetings as assigned.
- Performing all other duties as assigned.

EDUCATIONAL/SKILLS REQUIRED:
The rehabilitation tech should have a high school diploma or equivalent. He/she should have a current BLS certification. But if not will agree to within the first 30 days of employment.
EXPERIENCE:
One year or more in a medical related field is preferred but not required. Basic computer knowledge is required.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION:
This position could have access to patient confidential records and must comply with HIPAA regulations as well as Compliance Policies.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The following physical/mental demands are required for the Rehab technician.
Occasional = 33% Frequent = 66% Continuous = 100%
Frequently must be able to be on their feet walking, standing, transporting and/or positioning patients.
Frequently lift and transfer a minimum of 50 pounds and apply a minimum of 50 pounds of push/pull force while using good body mechanics.
Frequently use hands to finger, handle or feel.
Frequently reach with hands and arms.
Frequently requires bending and stretching while using good body mechanics.
May be exposed to communicable diseases.
